Rudranil Chattopadhyay is Doctoral Candidate, DC02, for MSCA SMARTTEST at the Department of Electrical Engineering (ESAT) from the KU Leuven. He will carry out research on ISAC implementation and performance of cellular beam-configurable systems & joint performance optimization using RIS. The objective is to implement ISAC and advanced signal processing techniques for accurate range, angle and (micro-)Doppler estimation from channel state information using cellular beam-reconfigurable system in the presence of hardware imperfections and devise techniques to control multipath using reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RISs) while jointly maximizing communication capability and sensing accuracy. The Doctoral Candidate is expected to develop techniques for beam-reconfiguration ISAC and practical strategy for RIS assistance.
He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering at SRM Institute of Science and Technology in 2020 and master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Stuttgart in 2025. His internship in Bosch Research focused on ISAC.
