Coordinator
The SMARTTEST will be coordinated by UT (NL), with Prof. Y. Miao being the General Coordinator (GC) and in charge of the overall management. She links all SMARTTEST beneficiaries and associated partners and the EC; she monitors the compliance/obligations of the beneficiaries and associated partners with their obligations in all tasks assigned in the Grant and Consortium Agreements; she also collects, reviews, and submits information related to the progress to the EC. With the strong support from the Management Team (MT), the GC prepares the agenda for the SMARTTEST and chairs the Supervisory Board (SB) meetings.
Supervision Board.
The roles and responsibilities of the supervision board are described in Section 5.
Management Team.
The Management Team (MT) a will assist the coordinator in
- Financial management and monitoring the expenses against budget allocations
- The collection of information from the beneficiaries and associated partners
- Monitoring the SMARTTEST research and training process
- The consolidation of management reports
Dissemination, Communication and Exploitation Board (DCEB)
will be in charge of the research dissemination activities described in section 2.3, promoting activities to raise public awareness of the project.
Research Data Management Board (RDMB)
will be in charge to ensure that the research data of the SMARTTEST project is managed in line with the FAIR principles
Recruitment committee (RC).
This committee involves the GC (female), the SC (female), the vice-GC (male) and vice-SC (female), and one representative from each beneficiary (D. Piazza, S. Kianoush (female), M. Nicoli (female), K. van Loon (female), M. Cerny, Y. Wang (female) ). The RC oversees the recruitment of DCs during the collective recruitment event. The RC follows up DC’s training progress and career planning. The RC members meet during network-wide events.
DC Research/Training Council
The DC Council consists of the 11 DCs and meets during the training events. The council discusses issues related to project management from their point of view and communicates them to the Supervision Board through their representative. The quality of the overall training is discussed, and concerns are communicated to the WP6 (Training) team and the Supervision Board. The council appoints a representative for the Supervision Board and WP6. The council co-plans the social media and strategy to engage with the general public in a detailed manner.
Ombudsperson
SMARTTEST will appoint an independent ombudsperson from coordinator UT, someone external to the project, to deal with any conflicts from the DCs. Anonymous feedback from DCs will be used to ensure that the project is matching their needs.
Doctoral candidate committee
The Doctoral Candidate committee includes 11DCs and meets during the Network Wide Events (NWE). It discusses issues related to project management from their point of view and communicates this to the SB, through the DCC representative.
External Advisory Committee (EAC)
The EAC is an external committee of 5 very experienced researchers, independent of the participants. They will be invited by the SMARTTEST consoritum .The task of the EAC is to review reports and publications on an ad-hoc, and a yearly, basis, for overall quality assurance. They will focus on research and training, but are free to comment also on management, dissemination and outreach. The EAC members will be stimulated to give feedback upon their own judgement. The EAC also has a role in spotting and indication of scientific misconduct by any SMARTTEST participant.
